Art Inspired Fashion Asheville: 50 Years

Clothing Designer and Fiber Artist Kathleen Lewis has spent 50 years creating art with fabric and fiber in Asheville, North Carolina. Fashionable garments and Fun Accessories have been created using surface design techniques : Snow dyeing, Microwave dyeing, Rust dyeing , Discharge and Thread or Pipe Shibori. In the past years Kathleen Lewis has shown her work in various Art Shows and can also be seen in galleries in WNC such as WoolWorth Walk and Gallery of the Mountains at the Grove Park Inn . I n 2010 Kathleen was appointed as a Fashion Mentor in HATCH/Asheville and in 2011 was on their Fashion Committee. Kathleen Lewis also owns and operates SewLink/Southern Decor, a professional sewing contracting company that has been in business in Asheville for 20 years.
